7 Creative Uses With Wood Pallets

Author:

It’s no secret that we love to see and use odd and unique items when decorating our homes and offices. From fun accessories and hacks to products that solve age-old problems, we’ve found many great solutions. The industrial theme in home decor has been on trend for a few years and is only becoming more popular. What’s not to love by adding a raw and minimal touch to your otherwise warm and cozy home?

An incredibly creative way to jump on board the industrial trend is by repurposing wood shipping pallets. These simple (and free!) items can take a room from drab to fab with just a weekend project and a few instructions. It’s important to note that some pallets may have a dirty past. It’s great that they’re free, but it’s often difficult to figure out where they came from and what they were used for. Check out this useful guide to help you decide if a pallet is safe to use for your project.

We’ve rounded up our favorite uses and projects with wood pallets here:

1.

WoodPalletBed

If you have a soft spot for romantic mood lighting, then you’ll love the ventilation that pallets offer.  Your bed can be customized to fit your needs, whether you like the low platform style or want to actually “climb” into bed.

2.

WoodPalletBar

Turn two pallets into the perfect outdoor entertaining space. Save money with this incredibly affordable project and spend it on a good bottle of wine instead!

3.

WoodPalletCoffeeTable

If you need lots of storage in your living room or den, this project is a great solution. Building a coffee table out of pallets will add cubbies for books, magazines and anything else needed nearby. The best part is you can paint or stain the wood any color to match your decor!

4.

WoodPalletJewelryDisplay

Create stylish storage for your jewelry by simply adding nails or drawer knobs to a pallet. Here, the pallet is mounted to the wall to save space in a bedroom and declutter the vanity and dresser.

5.

WoodPalletShoeRack

This shoe rack requires very little modifications to a pallet, but offers tremendous organization. Get rid of entryway messes by adding this near your door.

6.

WoodPalletCoffeeMugDisplay

If you aren’t a morning person, it’s important for your access to caffeine to be as simple as possible. Take away the step of opening a cabinet by creating a display (and more storage) for your coffee mugs.

7.

WoodPalletBathDesk

Is the bathtub your favorite place to relax? Make it so you never have to leave with this bath desk. Create space for toilitries or even get some work done while you get your soak on.
