Storing & Displaying Baseball Memorabilia

The sun is shining, the temperatures are slowly climbing their way upward, the hot dogs are fresh off the grill, and everyone’s got their team colors on – it must be baseball season!

Opening day is upon us for the MLB, and by now most teams have played their first game of the year. If you find yourself getting into the baseball spirit and you’re looking to display some of your favorite mitts, jerseys, autographed baseballs, or what have you, here’s a few tips for displaying your collectibles!

Choose The Right Room: The first thing to do when putting your baseball collection on display is to decide where it’s all going to go. Do you have space enough in your living room for that prized jersey? Or would that autographed baseball bat look better in your exercise room to provide a little motivation during your workout? Picking the right location will do you a world of good when it comes time for displaying your collection.

Sort Your Items: Next, start keeping everything separate for better organizing and arranging. If your collection is mostly smaller items like baseballs, cards, or hats, sort them all however you like – chronologically, by name of player, and so on. Bigger items can be sorted by weight, size, or shape to help figure out where they should go. Taking a second to reorganize everything will help when it comes time to actually hang everything up.

Get The Right Displays: What’s the point of having a baseball collection if you don’t have the right tools to show it off? The right decorative shelving can provide the perfect shelf for showing off autographed balls or framed cards. If you have a few autographed or field-used bats from your favorite team, you can get a baseball bat rack to hang them proudly (and out of the way!). Jerseys can be framed and hung up like posters, and cards can be displayed in special cases right next to them.

Finally, Plan and Execute!: At this point there’s nothing to do it but to do it! Lay out your proposed display on the floor or on a table to get an idea of where everything would go, and get to decorating!

These tips and displays should get you and your family in the mood for baseball season!

And, if we may: go Tigers!
